The Yangko dance，also known as “twisting Yangkodance”，is the most representative folk dance inChina and a special combination of singing art anddancing art. The Yangko dance sprang from the laboractivities of rice seedling transplanting andfarmland ploughing，and was linked to songs used to worship the God of Farm to pray for agood harvest long time ago.Influenced by farming songs,folk songs，folk Kung fu and so on，ithas become a kind of folk song and dance.The Yangko dance is not only a performing art，butalso a self-amusement activity.People will organize Yangko dance competitions andperformances whenever there is a great festival.
