一. 介系詞of, from 與be made連用,皆可表示,of用以說(shuō)明質(zhì)料,多接wood等物質(zhì)名詞;from用以說(shuō)明所指質(zhì)料從外觀上已看不出原來(lái)樣子。
The table is made of marble.
這桌子是大理石做的。
That is butter. It is made from milk.
那是奶油，是用奶做的。
The liquor is made from wheat.
這酒是用小麥釀制的。
二. Of, from可以與動(dòng)詞hear連用，但意義不同。
Hear of 聽(tīng)說(shuō)…。可以是聽(tīng)別人說(shuō)起，也可以是從書(shū)籍報(bào)刊上讀到過(guò)的事或了解的情況。
Hear from 收到…來(lái)信，收到…消息。它不是指具體接到信件，而是指得到音信、信息。
I haven't heard from you for ages.
我很久沒(méi)有你的消息了。
Butter? I have never heard of this name.
奶油？我從沒(méi)聽(tīng)說(shuō)過(guò)這個(gè)名字。
Liquor made from wheat? I have never heard of this before.
小麥釀制的酒？我還從未聽(tīng)說(shuō)。
