悉尼大學(University of Sydney)是澳大利亞歷史最悠久的大學，創(chuàng)立于1850年。它位于新南威爾士州的首府悉尼。它是澳洲八大名校(類似美國常春藤盟校)的龍頭院校，并一直都是全國規(guī)模最大的學術機構。其Fisher Library 是南半球最大的圖書館。悉尼大學是沿太平洋大學聯(lián)盟的成員,其校長為現(xiàn)任的聯(lián)盟主席.
學校主力提供牛劍式的學院生活，所以選址位于悉尼中心商務區(qū)西南的外圍地帶?，F(xiàn)時學校在悉尼有多個校園。一方面是由于學生需求，而于市中心設立特別課室，以供在職人士下班后方便上課;另一方面，由于學校在近十年來不斷擴充及合并，亦使學校可以使用的校園地點增加。
悉尼大學的校訓是Sidere mens eadem mutato(拉丁文，意思是：繁星縱變，智慧永恒。)，反映出創(chuàng)校當年為保持英式大學的傳統(tǒng)。
