Scholarships are education funds that don’t have to be repaid. Scholarship eligibility is based on the following factors:
Merit (academic achievement, athletic skills, community service, etc.)
Need (financial need, hardship, etc.)
Special characteristics (ethnicity, place of residence, intended major, etc.)
When you apply to Mizzou, you are automatically considered for several mutually exclusive scholarships. To be eligible for automatic scholarships, you must be enrolled:
at Mizzou the first semester (fall or spring) after graduating high school
as a full-time, degree-seeking student
You aren’t automatically considered for every scholarship at Mizzou. There are several departmental scholarships that you must apply for. To be eligible for these scholarships, you need to submit the MU Annual Scholarship Application by Dec. 15.You must apply to Mizzou by Dec. 1 to get access to the scholarship application.

Application process
No application required. Students are automatically considered once admitted to MU.
Renewal
Renewable for an additional three years. Students can receive the scholarship for a maximum of eight regular (fall or spring) semesters or until receiving a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first.
To remain eligible for the award, recipients must:
Remain continuously enrolled at MU for each regular (fall and spring) semester
Enroll for a minimum of 12 MU credit hours each semester (fall and spring)
Complete at least 24 graded credit hours each academic year
Maintain a cumulative MU grade point average of 3.25 or higher
Dismissal from the University for any conduct reason will result in a loss of the scholarship award. If renewal criteria (minimum completion of hours and cumulative GPA for the specific award) are met at the close of the academic year (spring semester), the student may regain eligibility. However, the semester(s) during the suspension will be counted as part of the eight semester maximum award.?
Failure to meet the renewal criteria will cause the recipient to be ineligible to receive the scholarship for the following academic year. If at the end of that academic year the renewal criteria listed above are met, the scholarship will be reinstated for the next academic year. However, all regular semesters of enrollment are counted toward the eight-semester limit of receiving the award.

Students must submit an MU application, including all application documents and official test scores, by March 1st. Those students who meet the minimum qualifications listed above will be contacted by the International Admissions Office and will receive further instruction regarding the essay and recommendation letter that will be required for scholarship consideration.
Recipients will be contacted by April 1st and must accept the award before May1st.

The secondary school core grade point average will be figured by the International Admissions Office using nationally recognized guidelines. The IAO decision will be final.
Award amount
Waiver of nonresident tuition (approximately $15,000) for nonresident students. Waiver of nonresident tuition is for a total of 8 regular semesters (fall and spring), students are not eligible for the waiver during summer terms.
(Will be canceled or reduced if nonresident tuition is waived or paid by another source.)

Student's name, date of birth and MU ID number
The alumni parent's name, date of birth, degree received from MU and date degree was earned.

Global Tiger Scholarships
The Mizzou Alumni Association is committed to supporting the diversity of a global campus. An important part of that diversity includes scholarship opportunities for returning international students. This scholarship honors and recognizes retired Mizzou Alumni Association employee Valerie Goodin for her dedication to serving and supporting international students and alumni during her tenure. Recipients, as a part of the scholarship award, agree to provide service to the alumni association during the school year in which the award is received as needed.
Available to both undergraduate and graduate-level students.
Award Amount: Awards are for $1,000 each.
Renewal: These awards are not renewable.
Deadline: Application are due March 1, 2018.
Notification: Selection decisions will be shared with applicants by May 15.

Curator's Grant-in-Aid scholarship
In the early 1950s the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri authorized the Curators Grant-In-Aid Scholarship specifically for international students. Since the inception of the award thousands of international students demonstrating good academic standing and financial need have been helped to successfully complete their programs of study.
The MU International Center administers the GIA Scholarship program and is responsible for the collection and review of applications and recommendation forms and for making the award decisions for the undergraduate and graduate international students. The International Center notifies the Financial Aid Office, the Graduate School, and Cashier's Office its recommendations for the student awards. The Financial Aid Office and Office of Cashiers post the recommended award to each undergraduate scholarship recipient's student account. The Office of Cashiers is responsible for posting the resident tuition waivers. Graduate resident tuition waivers are limited to courses necessary for degree completion. In addition, the Graduate School is responsible for posting the non-resident tuition waivers of all credit hours for which the student is enrolled (must be required courses for degree/program completion). The GIA awards are generally limited to one semester and not automatically renewable.
The GIA program is designated exclusively for international students. GIAs are awarded on a semester-only basis to both graduate and undergraduate students based on an evaluation of academic merit, financial need, longevity at MU, and on-campus employment and student activities. Academic merit based on the student’s cumulative grade-point-average is a primary indicator for selection. Undergraduate GIA Scholarships provide $500 to $2,000 of tuition support for one semester, but often carry from year-to-year depending on funding availability and the number of qualified applicants. Graduate GIA Scholarships waive one credit hour of tuition up to nine credit hours of tuition toward required courses and all non-resident fees of all credit hours which student is enrolled for one semester. The awards are not automatically renewable, but must be applied for each semester. No GIA awards are available during the summer school sessions.

理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金專(zhuān)門(mén)提供給國(guó)際學(xué)生。理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金只在一個(gè)學(xué)期的基礎(chǔ)上頒發(fā)，頒發(fā)給研究生和本科生，頒發(fā)的依據(jù)是學(xué)業(yè)成績(jī)、經(jīng)濟(jì)需求、注冊(cè)時(shí)間以及校園就業(yè)和學(xué)生活動(dòng)。學(xué)業(yè)成績(jī)以累積平均績(jī)點(diǎn)為基礎(chǔ)，是篩選的主要指標(biāo)。本科理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金每學(xué)期提供500美元到2000美元的學(xué)費(fèi)支持，但是通常會(huì)根據(jù)可用資金和合格申請(qǐng)人的數(shù)量每年更新。研究生理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金減免所要求的課程的一個(gè)到幾個(gè)學(xué)分的學(xué)費(fèi)，以及學(xué)生一個(gè)學(xué)期注冊(cè)的所有學(xué)分的非居民費(fèi)用。理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金不會(huì)自動(dòng)更新，而是每個(gè)學(xué)期都需要申請(qǐng)。夏季學(xué)期不提供理事會(huì)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。
