技巧1：根據(jù)同義詞或反義詞來判斷
如：Tom is lazy but his brother is industrious.
該句中but表示轉(zhuǎn)折，就暗示了lazy和industrious是一對反義詞，由此可知in dustrious意為“刻苦的、勤奮的”。
技巧2：根據(jù)定義和釋義來 推測
如：She is studying g lauc oma，a kind of disease on the eyes.
我們可能猜不出glaucoma的確切 詞義，但通過后面的解釋可知道glaucoma(青光眼)是一種眼睛疾病。
技巧3：根據(jù)常識來推測
如：Water usually boils at 100 centigrade.
眾所周知，水的沸點(diǎn)是100攝氏度，由此不難判斷出centigrade的意思是“攝氏度”。
技巧4：運(yùn)用構(gòu)詞法進(jìn)行猜測
如：The colors of Hawaii in summer are unforgettable.
forget意為“忘記”，un為否定前綴，因此unforgettable就是“令人難忘”之意。]
