美國學(xué)校提供的學(xué)位有很多種,依所學(xué)領(lǐng)域的不同,而有不同的學(xué)位。以下列出的是美國高等教育中較常見的學(xué)位:
Ph.D.（Doctor of Philosophy）: 博士學(xué)位。
而有些領(lǐng)域的博士課程會有不同的學(xué)位名稱,如D.A.（Doctor of Arts）、Ed.D.（Doctor of Education M.B.A.（Master of Business Administration）: 商學(xué)管理碩士。
M.A.（Master of Arts）碩士；B.A.（Bachelor of Arts）學(xué)士: 兩者皆屬于人文、藝術(shù)或社會科學(xué)的領(lǐng)域,如文學(xué)、教育、藝術(shù)、音樂。
M.S.（Master of Science）碩士；B.S.（Bachelor of Science）學(xué)士: 兩者皆屬于理工、科學(xué)的領(lǐng)域,如數(shù)學(xué)、物理、信息等。
Associate Degree（副學(xué)士學(xué)位）: 讀完兩年制小區(qū)大學(xué)或職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)校所得到的學(xué)位。
Dual Degree（雙學(xué)位）: 是由兩個不同學(xué)院分別授與,因此得到的是兩個學(xué)位。
Joint Degree:為兩個不同學(xué)院聯(lián)合給予一個學(xué)位,如法律經(jīng)濟(jì)碩士。
