EMPG is looking for a solid senior software developer to take our Software de
velopment to the next level. In this position, you will be responsible for ens
uring the quality and delivery of software developed for the Classmate PC fami
ly of education products. Your responsibilities will include but not be limite
d to:
- Doing prototype, design, code
- Collaborating with EMPGs SW and/or HW architects and engineers, Research an
d Definition, and worldwide Ecosystem teams and senior management
- Ensuring quality results from our internal and outsourced software developme
nt
- Responsible for training and educating junior programmers and help to create
a positive and productive development environments
- Contributing to set up a professional development team as a key contributor.
EMPG is a distributed organization so some travel may be required.
Qualifications
Do you enjoy collaborative development and programming with others in a dynam
ic and fast pace environment? Do you have a talent for programming? Do you enj
oy the challenge of finding bad bugs? Do you get excited by improving and refi
ning algorithms? Does writing tight, clean, bug free code interest you? Do you
read coding books instead of sci-fi books? Do you rise to the challenge when
presented with tough programming problems? Do you know what int 21h and int 10
h are? Are you curious? Do you like to know how things work? Does hacking a ke
rnel or rapidly prototyping new technologies make your mouth water? Do you pro
gram for fun? Do you have your own programming project or contribute to an ope
n source project? Are you not afraid to get your hands dirty? Is the Penguin B

You should possess a relevant educational qualification. Additional qualificat
ions include:
- Half year to one year, 4-5 days per week working time
- Experience in both Windows* and Linux* development
- Experience in coding and debugging skills of C and/or C . Other programming
language like C# and/or Qt and/or python* would be an added advantage
- Domain expertise in network programming or security development would be an
added advantage
- Good English speaking and writing skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
