Ⅰ. boat “船、艇，”是普通用語。主要指用漿、篙、帆或引擎的小船、小艇，但有時也指大輪船。如：
    ① We crossed the river by boat. 我們乘船過河。
    ② They pulled the boat up on to the shore. 他們把這條船拖上了岸。(指小船)
    ③ When does the boat leave for Shanghai?(指輪船)
    Ⅱ. ship “船、艦，”多指大的航海船只。如：
    ① The ship is at sea. 船廠在航海。
    ② They went to Guangahou by ship. 他們乘船去廣州。
